This reports on an Annals of Neurology article that discusses possible relationships between amusia, dyslexia and other ways in which certain individuals perceive the world quite differently. Unlike dyslexia, amusia is not considered something that drastically impedes a person's advancement at school or in the work place. However, if you put a tone deaf individual in a room with one who has perfect pitch, and start the music, some very intriguing dynamics soon develop.
So, for those of us who do march to the beat of a different drummer, it is refresing to know that we are not alone in the journey.
